Been playing around with my Olympus XZ-1 for the past few weeks and found a very useful function for it – I can take macro shots on the fly. Sure, it may not beat a proper macro lens on a DSLR but what I lose in quality, I get it back with the camera’s small form factor.
On its quality, I just attach my Nikon SB-900 speedlight and I’m good to go. Of course, it looks awkward as hell to hold but it’s definitely better than nothing.
While I’m waiting for work to lighten up to do a proper review of the XZ-1, here’s sample of what it can do with good light. With a little post-processing, it looks like we’ve got a winner here.
